Responsibilities
Design, deploy, and maintain a robust and scalable OpenStack private cloud infrastructure
Lead the migration of our existing VMware ESXi based virtual machines to the OpenStack platform, ensuring minimal downtime and a seamless transition
Manage and administer all aspects of the OpenStack environment, including Nova, Neutron, Cinder, Keystone, Glance, and other modules
Implement and manage software-defined networking (SDN) and network function virtualization (NFV) solutions within the OpenStack environment
Ensure the security and compliance of the cloud infrastructure by implementing and managing security best practices, policies, and procedures
Automate cloud infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and management using tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef
Monitor the health, performance, and capacity of the OpenStack cloud, and proactively address any issues
Collaborate with development and operations teams to support the deployment of applications and services on the OpenStack cloud
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior members of the team
Stay current with the latest OpenStack developments and industry best practices, and make recommendations for continuous improvement
Qualification
Required
7-10 years of experience in a cloud engineering or similar role, with a focus on private cloud technologies
Extensive hands-on experience with OpenStack, including a deep understanding of its architecture and core components
Proven experience in migrating workloads from VMware ESXi to OpenStack
Strong experience with Linux (e.g., Red Hat, CentOS, Ubuntu) and/or Windows Server administration
In-depth knowledge of networking concepts
