Responsibilities
Work as part of a team that works with and helps clarify requirements while continuously supporting development, integration, automation, and test of the final product through certification
Learn about and gain experience in cybersecurity software & systems engineering
Be a part of an agile multidisciplinary development team
Work on embedded systems software engineering
Engage in embedded or applications development
Participate in system infrastructure development; scripting, automation, data visualization & dashboarding
Qualification
Required
Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Math, and/or a related field
To be eligible for this position your final graduation date must fall between December 2026 and August 2027
US Citizenship is required for this role
Ability and willingness to obtain a US Secret Security Clearance
Previous experience using C or C++
Previous experience with Object Oriented Programming
Ability to pick up new software, frameworks and APIs
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Excellent software design, problem solving, and debugging skills
Experience with or desire to learn Linux
You must be available to work 40 hours/week for the full duration of the internship program as outlined in the cohort dates below
Preferred
Experience with Java or Python
Previous Viasat internship experience
Courses in software architecture and practical software design usage
Experience with developing software monitoring and control software
Familiarity with configuration management tools (Perforce), development tools (Eclipse, Visual Studio, etc.), and agile development methodologies
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines
Knowledge of TCP/IP network fundamentals
Desire to work on network-based products
