Consulting Specifying Engineer
ISEE Career Solutions, Inc. is a global manufacturer and supplier of electrical equipment and products looking to establish its presence in the North American market. The role involves serving as a technical liaison to consulting engineers and stakeholders, influencing project designs, and providing application engineering support.
Responsibilities
Serve as the primary technical liaison to consulting engineers, end users, EPCs, and key project stakeholders, ensuring company products are specified and approved in base specifications
Influence project designs to position medium- and low-voltage switchgear, transformers, and power distribution solutions ahead of bid
Act as a trusted advisor by providing application engineering support, value engineering, and system-level recommendations
Deliver technical presentations and product training to engineering firms, contractors, and customer leadership teams
Leverage digital and smart power technologies to address customer challenges related to reliability, safety, efficiency, and sustainability
Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Product Management, and Project Teams to ensure alignment from specification through execution
Identify and develop new business opportunities by understanding market trends, customer needs, and emerging applications
Support proposal development and technical documentation to enhance competitive positioning
Represent the organization at industry events, technical seminars, and professional organizations as required
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline
5+ years of experience in application engineering, specification sales, or electrical system design within: a) Medium Voltage (MV) and Low Voltage (LV) switchgear and (b)Transformers or power distribution equipment
Experience working with or influencing consulting engineering firms, design firms, or EPCs
Strong understanding of electrical power systems and industry standards (ANSI, IEEE, NEC, NEMA, UL)
Proven ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build long-term relationships at both engineer and management levels
Ability to work independently in a remote environment while collaborating with cross-functional teams
Experience with short circuit, coordination, or arc flash concepts and tools
Established professional network within the electrical engineering or consulting community
