Service Technician - Commercial HVAC
Comfort & Process Solutions, a trusted leader in commercial and industrial HVAC services, is seeking an experienced Service Technician III to join their team. Responsibilities
Independently service, maintain, diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair commercial HVAC equipment—from 1-ton mini-splits to 50-ton package units, boilers, chillers (including retrofits), control valves, heat exchangers, and evaporative coolers—on-site at customer locations
Utilize state-of-the-art diagnostic software, mobile technology, specialized hand tools, and engineering blueprints/specifications to identify issues, perform precise repairs, and restore system functionality
Deliver outstanding customer service by analyzing system performance, recommending solutions, and educating clients on maintenance best practices to prevent future issues and promote long-term reliability
Accurately document all service activities, complete work orders, capture photos/notes as needed, and communicate job details to dispatch before departing the site
Identify and discuss service opportunities, preventive maintenance plans, and system upgrades with customers and account managers to support business growth
Maintain the highest safety standards at all times, enforce company safety protocols, and ensure accountability for company-issued tools, vehicles, parts, and assets
Demonstrate flexibility by participating in on-call rotations, overtime, weekend shifts, and occasional overnight travel as required to meet client needs
Perform physical demands of the role, including frequent lifting of 30 lbs and occasional lifting up to 50 lbs, working in varied environments (rooftops, mechanical rooms, extreme temperatures)
Qualification
Required
5+ years of hands-on experience in commercial/industrial HVAC service and repair
Current EPA Universal Certification (or Type II minimum) and any additional relevant HVAC credentials (e.g., NATE, factory-specific training preferred)
Proven expertise in servicing complex systems, including chillers, boilers, VRF, building automation, and industrial piping
Strong troubleshooting, diagnostic, and mechanical/electrical skills with the ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical specifications
Proficiency with modern HVAC service software, mobile apps, and basic computer tools for reporting and documentation
Excellent communication and customer service skills with a professional, solution-oriented approach
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
Ability to pass a background check, drug screening, and any required physical exams
