Offers Engineering Manager, Medium Voltage Switchgear and Motor Control Center

Responsibilities
Setting direction: Shape and communicate a clear vision aligned with organizational goals
Leading collaboration: Partner with Sales, Product, Project Management, Engineering, and Quality to align solutions with technical and commercial needs
Lead and develop the Offers Application Engineering team in preparing competitive, compliant customer proposals
Manage workloads, staffing plans, and long-term resource needs
Coach and mentor team members support career development and training plans
Use lessons learned from Project Execution to strengthen proposal quality
Track and improve key KPIs: onetime proposals, cycle time, hit rate, team utilization, and NCCs
Identify process improvement opportunities and work with Business Innovation and Excellence teams on implementation
Support complex solution design and high‑visibility bid presentations
Review and approve proposals to ensure alignment with financial targets (margins, overhead, risk)
Present proposal data—including cost/price, legal/technical reviews, schedule, and risk—to senior management
Work cross‑functionally with Program Management, Legal, Procurement, Engineering, and Manufacturing as proposals move into execution
Oversee change order development and ensure clear project handover
Review and support negotiation of customer terms, MPAs, and pricing agreements
Participate in sales forecast reviews and help drive accurate pipeline visibility
Build strong customer relationships and support strategy development with Sales and BD
Champion continuous improvement across tools, processes, and best practices
Recruit, mentor, and develop engineering talent
Set performance goals, provide feedback, and foster a collaborative, innovative culture
Lead team members across multiple locations, including remote contributors
Provide clear, regular updates to senior leadership on progress, risks, and opportunities
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering (or foreign equivalent)
5 plus years of technical engineering experience, including leadership in a manufacturing environment
Demonstrated experience driving customer‑focused culture within engineering teams as a leader
Excellent communication, collaboration, leadership, and decision‑making skills
Strong ability to interpret customer technical requirements and align them with Siemens' product offerings
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and SAP
Knowledge of power systems protection, controls, and automation
Willingness to travel up to 10% for training, events, and meetings
Must be eligible to work in the US with no sponsorship now or in the future
Preferred
Experience designing and applying electrical distribution products
Familiarity with global Limits of Authority approval processes
Background in power automation and protection solutions
Knowledge of ANSI, IEEE, UL, and NEMA standards
Understanding of protection and control technologies for MV power distribution
Advanced degree in management
Candidates local to the Raleigh/Durham area
