Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University is seeking a Senior Financial Services Officer to act as a liaison between the University, students, and third-party entities regarding payment processes. The role involves managing accounts receivable, preparing invoices, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations.

Responsibilities
Serve as liaison between the University, the student, and the third party entity regarding payment of registration fees, housing, and meal plans
Compile all eligible deferments and inputs information using PeopleSoft or Third Party Contract module
Prepare invoices on all third-party agreements (excluding Military and Florida Prepaid) to include information needed by the third-party
Reconcile agreements with appropriate corporate accounts
Maintain work papers providing vendor name, date, and amount of invoice; and make telephone/email contact and reminder notices of delinquent accounts to vendors every 30 days
Post the appropriate deferments to the student's accounts based on the amount that the third party is committed to pay or has paid
Receive and prepares receipt transmittal for all third-party checks and wires for recording by the Cashier's Office
Verify that payments are recorded to the correct corporate account
Record receipt number, deposit identification, date, and amounts with corporate file
Assist students and parents with regard to payment of fees, accounts receivable, and distribution of refunds
Audit student charges prior to fee payment and enter third-party deferments as appropriate
Respond to written and oral inquiries from third-party agencies, students, parents, and the University community regarding accounts; and maintain files of all third-party agreements
Apply knowledge of University, State, and Federal rules and regulations in performing these duties
Research accounts using Peoplesoft and University legacy systems
Prepare work papers with distribution by corporate accounts of all third-party invoices outstanding at fiscal year-end to the Coordinator for inclusion in the University's Financial Statements
Provide information to Controller's Office, Financial Aid and Registrar's Office as needed
Work the student accounts window and answers telephone inquiries as needed; and perform other related duties as needed
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or equivalency and four years of related experience in accounts receivable; or bachelor's degree in appropriate area of specialization
Knowledge of basic accounting systems and practices
Knowledge of collection and/or cash handling procedures and ability to perform monetary transactions
Ability to compile, review, and reconcile complex financial data for accuracy, completeness, and compliance
Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing
Knowledge of electronic data processing as it applies to fiscal and accounting activities
Knowledge of and ability to interpret and apply related federal, state, and local laws, ordinances, rules and regulations
Knowledge of and the ability to interpret and apply related University policies, procedures, principles, and practices
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
Preferred
Bachelor's Degree preferred in Business Administration or related field
