Director of Marketing

Responsibilities
Own state-specific and national marketing plans aligned to revenue and brand goals across owned and licensed markets
Build quarterly and annual marketing calendars that include launches, retailer programs, field activity, events, budgets, timelines, and KPIs
Create playbooks and SOPs that make execution repeatable, scalable, and consistent
Run the marketing operating cadence. Set priorities. Review performance. Adjust quickly
Oversee digital strategy across web, lifecycle marketing, SEO, paid media, geo-targeted and programmatic advertising where permitted, and digital retail platforms
Ensure all digital work is compliant and still effective
Hold digital leaders accountable for conversion, efficiency, and measurable revenue lift
Test, learn, refine, and scale what works
Lead retail and trade marketing strategy, including door tiering and market prioritization
Ensure retailers have the right tools, merchandising standards, POS assets, and education to sell confidently
Partner tightly with Sales to secure menu placement, staff picks, promotions, and launch visibility
Protect and evolve brand standards across messaging, creative, packaging direction, and product storytelling
Drive campaign briefs and creative execution with internal teams and agencies
Ensure quality, clarity, and speed
Own how the Mfused story is told internally and externally with confidence and conviction
Oversee strategy of field marketing and event execution, including vendor days, pop-ups, ambassador programs, and industry events
Tie field activity directly to sell-through, reorder velocity, and lift
Standardize execution so performance does not depend on who shows up that day
Be visible. Represent the brand with retailers, partners, agencies, and at select industry events
Serve as the senior marketing partner to license operators in AZ, MD, and MO
Provide clear standards, toolkits, launch checklists, and training
Run regular business reviews. Address gaps. Drive alignment without direct authority
Lead, coach, and develop marketing leaders and their teams
Set expectations early. Give feedback directly. Hold people accountable
Build leadership capability and confidence across the organization
Carry the culture. Set the tone. Motivate the team to care about the work and the results
Own marketing budgets by state and channel
Track performance against KPIs that matter, including sell-through, menu share, velocity, reorder cycles, and event lift
Reallocate resources aggressively toward what is working
Qualification
Required
7+ years of progressive marketing experience, including leadership over managers or functional leads
Proven execution across digital, retail and trade, brand, and field marketing
Experience building structure, systems, and accountability in fast-moving environments
Strong communication and cross-functional leadership skills
Comfort operating in regulated or restricted categories
Preferred
Cannabis experience strongly preferred
Multi-state or license partner experience
Retail activation and field marketing leadership
Experience working closely with Sales and Finance
