The role involves gaining hands-on experience in public relations, marketing, media relations, and business development while working directly with senior leadership and clients.

Responsibilities
Draft press releases, social media posts, email campaigns, blog content, and client materials
Create and curate content for Milldam and client social channels (LinkedIn, Instagram, X/Twitter, Facebook)
Research reporters, media outlets, community stakeholders, and speaking opportunities
Pitch stories to journalists via persuasive emails and phone calls
Assist with website updates (MilldamPR.com); WordPress experience a plus
Support community-engagement campaigns, public meetings, and outreach strategies
Develop ideas and content for our monthly newsletter
Contribute graphics, edits, and creative concepts across campaigns
Help research events, venues, prospective clients, and industry trends
Qualification
Required
Creative, articulate, and motivated Communications, Marketing, English, PR, or Political Science major
Availability of 15–20 hours per week during the summer
Strong writing and communication skills
Curiosity about technology, infrastructure, sustainability, and public policy issues
An open mind and flexibility—no two days look the same here
Preferred
Previous experience, or PR internships are a plus
WordPress experience a plus
