2026-2027 Yearlong AI Engineer Intern
Chicago Transit Authority is the second largest transit system in the country! They are offering a year-long internship for college students in the Technology department, where interns will work on building AI features, automation pipelines, and production-ready services.

Responsibilities
Build agentic workflows, automation piplines, and real-time AI features
Use existing platform components while creating extensions with new AI capabilities
Build and maintain production-ready services, REST APIs, and microservices
Work closely with platform engineers on distribution systems, data flows, and workflow infrastructures
Improve AI systems through data format design, monitoring, and evaluations for iterative improvements
Qualification
Required
Full-time enrollment status in a degree program at an accredited college or university
Strong Microsoft Office and computer skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Good analytical and critical thinking skills
Proficient organizational skills with attention to detail
Good project management skills
Software engineering experience
Strong Python required
Experience deploying AI-powered applications in production (LLM, forecasting, chatbot, or similar)
Familiarity with Python ML libraries (Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn)
Preferred
Preferred Major(s): Computer Science
Preferred Level of Education: College graduate student
