Accounting Assistant III, Division of Philanthropy and Alumni Engagement [R0150456]
The University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) is inviting applications for the position of Accounting Assistant III within the Division of Philanthropy and Alumni Engagement. This role is primarily responsible for accounts payable processing, cash receipt reconciliation, and various accounting support functions to ensure accurate financial operations for the UNLV Foundation and Alumni Association.
Accounting
Responsibilities
Processing UNLV Foundation Disbursement Requests, UNLV Foundation Monetary Transfer Forms (MTFs), electronic invoice payments, Alumni Association Disbursement Requests, vendor maintenance for both entities, and IRS Forms 1099-NEC, 1099-MISC, and 1096
Managing daily cash receipt reconciliation by reviewing and recording deposits, credit cards, electronic payments, and other income within financial systems
Verifying supporting documentation, entering transactions into the cash receipts module, generating reports for general ledger posting, and coordinating with accounting staff and internal units to reconcile other payables and facilitate fund transfers for outstanding balances
Maintaining and updating financial forms and documentation, reconciling postage permit transactions, and tracking authorized signers
Managing the filing and archiving of contracts, reconciling contract payments, and supporting audits by preparing requested documentation
Assisting with charitable gift annuity disbursements and required tax reporting, processing departmental mail, supporting daily deposit and petty cash functions, and completing special projects such as reports, confirmations, and financial applications as assigned
Qualification
Required
Graduation from high school or equivalent education and three years of progressively responsible clerical accounting experience which included duties such as responsibility for accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and/or other accounting data; setting up computer spreadsheets to record, track organize and report data; researching and interpreting financial to data prepare reports and respond to budget and accounts related inquiries; and reconciling accounts; OR one year of experience as an Accounting Assistant II in Nevada State service which included clerical accounting duties as described above; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above
