This role focuses on building secure, resilient, and scalable edge solutions, ensuring reliable device operations and real-time telemetry across distributed retail locations.

Responsibilities
Architect, build, and maintain software services running on in-store edge hardware and IoT gateways
Create and enhance systems that enable centralized control and monitoring of edge gateways deployed across thousands of retail sites
Design intelligent recovery patterns, automated remediation, and fault-tolerant mechanisms to minimize downtime and manual intervention
Implement data collection and monitoring pipelines for energy consumption, device health, and operational performance to support efficiency and sustainability initiatives
Design and enforce secure connectivity and segmentation strategies to isolate IoT traffic from customer and enterprise systems
Ensure all edge and IoT solutions comply with retail security guidelines, industry standards, and internal governance requirements
Contribute to high-availability designs, failover planning, and incident response processes for store technology platforms
Collaborate with engineering, store operations, IT infrastructure, and security teams to deliver solutions that meet real-world retail needs
Qualification
Required
Proven experience building IoT and edge software solutions in production environments
Strong background in device provisioning, onboarding, and lifecycle management
Hands-on experience implementing automated recovery, resiliency, or self-healing patterns
Familiarity with telemetry, monitoring, and analytics systems for operational insights
Solid understanding of secure networking, access control, and segmentation for IoT systems
Experience designing systems for high availability and distributed environments
Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to work effectively across teams
Preferred
Exposure to enterprise-scale retail or geographically distributed IoT deployments
Experience with IoT communication protocols (e.g., MQTT, CoAP) and edge runtimes
Background with cloud-managed IoT platforms or edge services (AWS, Azure, etc.)
Knowledge of containerized workloads and orchestration platforms such as Docker and Kubernetes
Relevant certifications in IoT, networking, security, or cloud/edge technologies
