Talented Arts Visual (TAV) Gifted Teacher-Itinerant (Part-Time)-OPA
Algiers Charter Schools Association is seeking a Part-Time TAV & Gifted Teacher (Itinerant) to provide specialized instruction and enrichment opportunities to students identified as Talented Arts Visual and/or Gifted. The role involves designing and delivering rigorous, differentiated curriculum while collaborating with classroom teachers and school leaders to support student growth across assigned school sites.
Education Management
Responsibilities
Develop and deliver enrichment and accelerated instruction aligned to TAV and Gifted standards and students’ identified strengths and interests
Provide direct instructional services to identified TAV and Gifted students across assigned school locations
Identify, screen, and assess students for TAV and Gifted services in accordance with state and district-approved criteria and procedures
Differentiate instruction to address students’ academic, social, and emotional needs
Collaborate with classroom teachers to support differentiated instruction, extension activities, and inclusive practices
Monitor and document student progress; maintain accurate records, service logs, and required reports
Develop and facilitate enrichment activities, projects, performances, competitions, and special programs
Support students with goal-setting, independent learning skills, and time management
Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress, services, and enrichment opportunities
Participate in professional development to remain current with best practices in gifted and talented education
Ensure compliance with all applicable state, district, and school policies related to gifted and talented services
Perform other duties as assigned consistent with the scope and responsibility of the position
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field required
Valid state teaching certification required
Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills
Ability to work independently across multiple school sites
Demonstrated passion for fostering creativity, critical thinking, and a love of learning in students
Preferred
Master's degree preferred
Gifted and/or Talented Arts endorsement preferred or willingness to obtain
Experience teaching gifted, talented, or advanced learners in a K–12 setting preferred
Knowledge of differentiated instruction, project-based learning, and enrichment strategies
