Qualification
Required
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred
Three or more years of experience in a medical billing office
General understanding and application of basic accounting principles
PC and Microsoft Office proficiency
Knowledge of GE/Athena, EPIC or similar computerized billing system
Knowledge of government, commercial, HMO, PPO and other types of insurance guidelines
Importance of compliance with government regulations regarding medical billing
Preferred
Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding preferred
