ANALYST I
California Correctional Health Care Services is seeking a Selection Analyst to perform analytical and technical work within the Employment and Outreach Unit. The role involves developing and administering examinations, providing consultation and technical assistance, and ensuring compliance with selection laws and regulations.

Responsibilities
Performs the less complex analytical and technical work for the ECSS in the Employment and Outreach Unit
Provides innovative examination development, assembly, and administration services
Functions as the primary exam analyst responsible for the creation, maintenance, administration, and continual evaluation of California Correctional Health Care Services (CCHCS) exams
Develops and validates department wide examinations for correctional institutions/facilities as needed
Provides examination consultation and technical assistance, policy guidance, and interpretation of the State Personnel Board selection laws, rules, and regulations
Provides examination information and responds to questions from CCHCS Regional Personnel Offices and CCHCS Liaisons staff, State employees, candidates seeking State employment, and the general public
Performs varied and less complex analytical staff services related to minimum qualifications review, providing resolution to less complex MQs and exams issues
Qualification
Required
Possession of Minimum Qualifications (MQ) will be verified prior to interview and/or appointment
If you are meeting MQ's with education, you must include your unofficial transcripts/diploma for verification
Official transcripts may be required upon appointment
If it is determined an applicant does not meet the MQ's, the candidate will be withheld from the eligibility list, rendering them inactive and ineligible to be hired for the position
Candidates who have been withheld may file an appeal with the State Personnel Board
Applicants who completed their education outside of the US (with foreign degrees/transcripts) must obtain and submit verification of U.S. course/degree equivalency
CCHCS utilizes E-Verify to confirm candidate's identity and employment authorization
Completed applications and all required documents must be received or postmarked by the Final Filing Date in order to be considered
Current version of the State Examination/Employment Application STD Form 678 (when not applying electronically), or the Electronic State Employment Application through your Applicant Account at www.CalCareers.ca.gov
All Experience and Education relating to the Minimum Qualifications listed on the Classification Specification should be included to demonstrate how you meet the Minimum Qualifications for the position
Statement of Qualifications - A Statement of Qualifications is REQUIRED and must be submitted with your Employment Application (STD. 678)
Applications received without an appropriate Statement of Qualifications based on the instructions below will be rejected for being incomplete and will not be considered
Preferred
Ability to speak clearly and concisely and articulate the most complex issues both orally and in writing
Ability to effectively multi-task; track projects and monitor deadlines, taking appropriate action to ensure appropriate timeframes for various activities are met
Skill to evaluate qualifications of applicants and interview effectively (examination setting) to ensure compliance with laws, rules, regulations, procedures, etc
Working independently in a team setting
Demonstrated ability to gain and maintain cooperative relations with those contacted during the course of work
