Responsibilities

Factory Acceptance Testing and Customer Witness Testing of L&S equipment including but not limited to mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and digital control systems
Determine test equipment requirements and coordinating availability
Prepare test area
Validate compliance of equipment to FAT documents, system engineering documents, L&S drawings, L&S Engineering practices & standards
Provide accurate and complete documentation and recordkeeping - QC drawings, FAT documents
Maintain schedule dates
Troubleshoot issues and communicating noncompliance’s and issues to the Materials Manager
Make Engineering Project Manager aware of commercial (scope, schedule, budget) issues
Daily and final clean-up of test area
Keep anticipated start date and work remaining on their assigned tasks up to date
Design, develop, test and start up projects as requested
Ensure effective information handoffs
Interpret electrical and mechanical drawings
Minimize rework and warranty on all projects
Perform FAT, installation supervision, SAT, customer training and system commissioning as requested
Respond in a timely manner to customer requirements for service
Support Engineering division as requested
Troubleshoot control, electrical and hydraulic equipment
Utilize electrical and hydraulic test equipment
Utilize L&S Electric ISO system to ensure quality products and services
Work effectively with all other project team members such as control, electrical, HMI and mechanical disciplines
Make suggestions for test area and process improvements
Support customer calls for assistance

Required

Associates degree with 1 year of relevant experience with PLC based control systems
Travel in excess of 10% domestically and internationally
Ability to perform essential functions
Able to work for any employer in the United States
Ability to travel to Canada
Able to wear personal protective equipment (hearing protection, hard hat, safety glasses, etc.)
Ability to use hand and power tools effectively
Possess strong electrical and mechanical aptitude
Proficient use of personal computer, operating knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Project
Shall sign L&S Electric confidentiality agreement
Valid driver's license, able to be insured
Valid passport or ability to obtain one
Must be willing to work overtime, weekdays, and weekends to meet customer service requirements

Preferred

Knowledge of equipment associated with Hydraulic Turbine Controls
Perform PLC and Ladder Logic programming
Perform design of control and hydraulic circuits
Previous experience working in an industrial test environment
