Financial Data Analyst
Big Bend Hospice is a compassionate end-of-life care provider with over 40 years of experience in the Big Bend region. They are seeking an experienced Financial Data Analyst to support the organization's financial operations by collecting, analyzing, and interpreting financial and operational data, providing insights for budgeting, forecasting, and strategic decision-making.

Responsibilities
Analyzes and reports on financial performance, trends, and variances across programs, service lines, and cost centers to support leadership and Board decision-making
Prepares and supports monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and annual budget development using accurate, data-driven projections
Collaborates with executive leadership to develop dashboards, KPIs, cost analyses, revenue models, and payer-mix evaluations to monitor organizational financial health
Monitors hospice billing, collections, reimbursement trends, and payer claims; identifies denials, underpayments, and revenue leakage while ensuring compliance with CMS hospice reimbursement requirements
Extracts, validates, and maintains financial and operational data from EMR, billing, and financial systems, ensuring data integrity, documentation, and consistent reporting
Provides operational and strategic financial insights to support program development, staffing models, and resource allocation, including ad-hoc analyses for leadership
Reconciles monthly bank accounts, records cash management entries, and supports audits, regulatory reporting, and internal compliance reviews
Supports organizational projects, BI reporting, staff training, and continuous process improvement by documenting financial practices, implementing new processes, and monitoring outcomes
Adheres to organizational policies, compliance and regulatory standards, and demonstrates strong customer service, integrity, collaboration, adaptability, initiative, and a commitment to continuous improvement
Performs other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field required
A minimum of three years of related training and experience
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Strong analytical, quantitative and problem solving skills
Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
Proficiency with Excel, financial modeling, and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau)
Ability to interpret complex data and communicate findings clearly
Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy
Ability to prioritize assignments while working independently and collaboratively in a fast paced environment
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
Valid driver's license, auto insurance, and reliable transportation

Preferred
Experience with EMR and billing systems (e.g., Suncoast, Netsmart, Homecare Homebase)
