The Purchasing Intern supports the purchasing team while gaining hands-on experience with the full purchasing life cycle, including procurement processes and supplier communication.

Responsibilities
Assist with expediting and tracking orders and helps maintain accurate purchasing data within the ERP system
Support the creation of purchase requisitions and the conversion of those requisitions into purchase orders
Participate in developing requests for quotes
Contribute to basic inventory management activities
Assist with price justification tasks
Work closely with planning and operations to support product lines, track supplier shipping information and quality documentation, and help strengthen supplier relationships
Qualification
Required
Three to four years of study toward a degree in Business Operations, Procurement, Mathematics or other related field
Study or concentration in supply chain management or logistics
Strong background in Microsoft Office
Strong communication skills, including the ability to present information clearly to management, suppliers, peers, and supervisors both verbally and in writing
Motivated attitude and interest in learning negotiation strategies
Willingness to work effectively in a team environment
Preferred
Experience in leading small projects
Basic understanding of common manufacturing processes
