Responsibilities

Serve as the escalation point for complex technical issues involving servers, networks, security, and cloud platforms
Design, deploy, and maintain hybrid IT environments that integrate on-premise infrastructure with cloud services
Lead infrastructure upgrades, migrations, and modernization initiatives (e.g., server refreshes, cloud migrations, identity modernization)
Perform root cause analysis and implement long-term solutions rather than short-term fixes
Ensure systems meet best practices for security, performance, scalability, and reliability
Architect, deploy, and manage cloud environments (primarily Microsoft Azure), including:
Virtual machines and networking
Identity and access management
Backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity
Maintain and support on-premise infrastructure including:
Windows Server
Virtualization platforms
Storage systems and backups
Design and maintain hybrid identity solutions (e.g., Active Directory, Entra ID, SSO, MFA)
Design, implement, and troubleshoot network infrastructure (firewalls, switches, wireless, VPNs)
Apply security best practices including:
Endpoint protection and EDR
Patch management
Least-privilege access models
Compliance and risk mitigation
Participate in security assessments and remediation planning
Act as a technical advisor to clients, translating business needs into technical solutions
Participate in client meetings, QBRs, and project planning sessions
Create and review technical documentation, diagrams, and solution designs
Scope projects, estimate effort, and contribute to solution proposals
Identify opportunities for improvement, standardization, and optimization within client environments
Mentor and coach junior and mid-level technicians
Provide technical guidance during escalations and collaborative troubleshooting
Help define and enforce technical standards, best practices, and documentation
Contribute to internal knowledge base and process improvements
Lead by example in professionalism, communication, and problem-solving

Required

Strong experience supporting Windows-based environments (Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, etc.)
Solid understanding of cloud platforms (primarily Azure), including hybrid architectures
Experience with Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, Entra ID)
Virtualization experience (specifically Hyper-V, but we do support others)
Networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs, routing, and firewalls
Backup and disaster recovery solutions (on-prem and cloud)
Scripting and automation experience (PowerShell preferred)
Ability to design scalable, secure, and cost-effective IT solutions
Experience evaluating and selecting technologies based on client requirements
Strong documentation and diagramming skills
Understanding of lifecycle management, redundancy, and fault tolerance
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
Professional, confident, and consultative client presence
Strong time management and prioritization skills in a fast-paced MSP environment
Demonstrated experience mentoring or leading other technicians
Ability to influence without authority and collaborate across teams
Calm, methodical approach to high-pressure situations
Commitment to continuous improvement and learning

Preferred

7+ years of IT experience, with at least 3–5 years in an MSP or multi-client environment
Relevant certifications (preferred but not required), such as: Microsoft (Azure, M365), Cisco / networking certifications
Experience with compliance frameworks (HIPAA, SOC 2, NIST, etc.)
Exposure to project management or technical project leadership
