Corporate Controller

OTH Hotels Resorts is seeking a Corporate Controller to oversee and manage various financial activities. The role involves coordinating month-end closings, managing accounts payable and payroll, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations and internal controls.

Responsibilities

Advocates the Open Door Policy by assisting the properties' leadership through clear, calm and direct oral and/or written communication, in accordance with the guidelines established by OTH Hotels Resorts
Bring all financially sensitive related information to the attention of the Chief Financial Officer in all instances to limit liability
Assist in internal and external audits per OTH or ownership groups
Process finance forms and respond to written and oral inquiries regarding financial items in a timely manner
Responsible for all OTH entities for tax filings per state, local, and federal regulations as well as all records and entity requirements
Perform special projects as assigned
Manage the accounts payable process from invoices to approvals, and timeliness of invoices being posted for financial accuracy
Responsible for weekly check runs that align with the Accounts Payable procedure as well as the cash projections
Manages the monthly income audit process to ensure accuracy through revenue recognition
Manage semi-monthly payroll processes through time sheet review, entitlement approvals for payment, etc…
Maintains accurate and timely processing to ensure team members are paid per the payroll calendars
Manage all receivables to ensure minimal risk on collections
Manage monthly tracking of receivables and notify CFO of any payables 30 days from due date or risk
Manage all settlements and cash projections on a weekly basis
Responsible for the timely distributions to owners, partners and principals
Provide guidance and oversight of property rebills
Manage PVNG. Review all postings for verification, validation, and accuracy through support, working papers, or discussion. Note any details in the general ledger or support to provide an audit trail per OTH Hotels Resorts policies and procedures
Assist in administration of payroll processes with HR including processing checking and auditing timekeeping records for compliance with established standards, supervising compliance with time and attendance records, validating new hires or terminations that are in the system, posting changes in pay and tax status, and miscellaneous changes
Responsible for the closing of the financial records monthly including journal entries, balance sheet reconciling entries, reclasses, and reviews for accuracy
Manage balance sheet reconciliations with supporting documentation
Responsible for reconciliation of all taxes including the periodic filing per state and federal requirements
Responsible for the development and execution of the monthly financial package which includes: + Monthly Financial Statement + Full Year Forecast + Balance Sheet + Cash Projection Summary + AP Aging + AR Aging + Trail Balance + General Ledger Detail

Required

Four-year college degree or equivalent /education experience
Accounting experience is required with a minimum of five (5) years in the hospitality industry
Knowledge of Microsoft Office, including word, excel, outlook, PowerPoint
Ability to write and communicate professionally
Must be hospitality oriented and possess the ability to work under pressure
Ability to determine course of action based on policies and procedures

Preferred

Previous supervisory/ management skills preferred
Experienced with Dayforce, PVNG, and ProfitSword preferred and/or other Payroll, Back Office and BI systems, respectively
