Administrative Technician, MDJ - Floater- Court Admin
Cumberland County, PA is dedicated to providing impactful county services and is seeking an Administrative Technician for Court Administration. This role involves providing administrative and clerical support to the Magisterial District Judge Courts, ensuring efficient case flow and handling various legal documents and responsibilities.

Responsibilities
Answers telephone and greets visitors to the MDJ Office
Collects fines and payments and arranges for payment plans
Performs various administrative functions including filing of civil, criminal, traffic and non-traffic citations, miscellaneous dockets, and related documents
Schedules hearings for traffic, non-traffic, civil and criminal matters depending upon the office practice of the MDJ
Prepares court cases and related documents for MDJ review prior to hearing
Arranges for transportation of incarcerated defendants for hearings at the MDJ office if handling office criminal case responsibilities
Prepares and distributes notices to traffic, non-traffic, civil and criminal parties regarding hearing dates depending upon the office practice of the MDJ
Prepares on-call paperwork to process criminal cases if handling office criminal case responsibilities
Prepares appeals of civil matters or appeals of traffic and non-traffic cases if handling criminal case responsibilities
May perform bookkeeping duties, prepare bank statements, make deposits, reconcile checking account, and prepare and create reimbursement checks for staff, county agencies, municipalities, and constables depending on the office practice of the MDJ
Process a variety of legal forms i.e. appeals summons, warrants, 1st dl’s, 2nd dl’s, and pre-warrants completely and accurately, to implement court orders and proceedings
Processes certified and first-class mail
Completes dispositions on all cases
Assists with training new office staff
Performs other job-related duties to ensure proper case flow management of office
Must possess a valid driver’s license
Must be available to travel throughout the county

Associate's degree from an accredited college or university, OR a combination of education and experience in a related field
Minimum of three years routine clerical or secretarial experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
