Responsibilities
Review permit request information, construction plans, and scopes of work to determine appropriate traffic control requirements
Prepare site-specific traffic control plans for a variety of projects, including overhead and underground utility construction
Apply applicable standards, agency requirements, and MUTCD guidelines in the development of traffic control plans
Coordinate with field crews, construction supervisors, and project teams to develop practical and effective traffic control solutions
Revise traffic control plans in response to agency comments and field conditions
Support permitting efforts by providing traffic control exhibits and responding to agency review comments
Maintain organized and accurate electronic drawing files and documentation
Assist traffic engineers and designers with additional drafting or design-related tasks as assigned
Qualification
Required
Minimum of two (2) years of experience in traffic control planning or related work
Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D
High school diploma or equivalent required
Demonstrated understanding of regional and local traffic control standards
Solid knowledge of agency project review processes, permitting requirements, and traffic control regulations
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Working knowledge of MUTCD standards and local agency requirements
Preferred
Prior experience drafting traffic control plans for utility or roadway construction projects
Familiarity with local agency permitting processes
Experience coordinating traffic control plans with field construction operations
Knowledge of overhead and underground utility construction practices
