Responsibilities
Perform specialized technical activities in support of engineering operations
Gather, compile and/or analyze data for engineering studies
Prepare routine engineering and construction drawings with an estimated cost of $0 to $750,000
Prepare accurate and complete layouts, cross sections, and profiles
Research and maintain existing infrastructure record drawings, maps and plans
Maintain databases
Provide research and public assistance by providing engineering documents and support to all city departments, private engineering firms or other businesses
Develop maps for presentations and in-office use
Able to follow written and verbal instructions
Use of Microsoft programs
Able to read Civil Engineering plans
Perform related duties as directed
Qualification
Required
Completion of an Associate's Degree in CAD
2 years of general CAD experience with a knowledge of fundamental principles in engineering and engineering drafting
Valid TX Driver's License
Knowledge of the fundamental principles of engineering, zoning, or planning
Knowledge of computer aided drafting software
Knowledge of computer applications associated with typical office duties and engineering functions
Working knowledge of Word, Access, Excel, and Power Point
Knowledge of the principles and practices of engineering drafting as required by the specific position
Ability to read and interpret drawings
Ability to communicate effectively with others
Ability to understand surveyor's notes and interpret metes and bounds land descriptions as required by the specific position
Frequently lift and carry up to 10 pounds
Occasionally lift and carry up to 25 pounds
Frequently walk, stand, bend and kneel during the shift
Occasionally flex upper trunk forward at the waist and partially at the knees
Occasionally rotate upper trunk to the left or right while sitting or standing
Place arms above, at and below shoulder height
Coordinate eye, hand and foot movement
