Responsibilities

Provide day-to-day leadership and oversight to ensure the effective delivery of a comprehensive program of academic advising, career development, and financial support for ASAP students
Represent Hudson Valley Community College’s ASAP program on all relevant committees and collaborate with internal and external partners to build strong relationships that foster program alignment, institutional buy-in, and long-term sustainability
Implement SUNY and Hudson Valley Community College policies, as well as develop local program policies, procedures, and strategies that advance the program’s mission and support the achievement of enrollment and recruitment targets each semester
Recruit, hire, supervise, and evaluate all ASAP program staff and lead the development of systems and processes for the consistent collection, analysis, and reporting of student engagement and outcomes data
Oversee the program budget and daily administrative operations, including staffing, scheduling, and the timely delivery of services
Oversee the development and timely implementation of retention strategies and student support services, including targeted interventions and academic support for probationary and at-risk students
Design, implement, and manage program components and data-collection processes to monitor progress toward student engagement and academic performance benchmarks
Develop strategies, and processes for recruitment to reach enrollment targets, meeting SUNY cohort requirements
Establish and manage processes for the distribution of program incentives in coordination with appropriate college departments
Develop strategy and mechanisms to increase FAFSA completion, reduce SAP/verification issues, promote intersession course taking, and ensure timely course registration
Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with key campus partners, including Admissions, the Registrar, the Career Center, and Financial Aid
Participate in required meetings with CUNY and/or SUNY Central ASAP leadership and prepare regular outcome and performance reports for college leadership
Oversee the development of a comprehensive framework that supports ASAP students’ progression toward academic, career, and post-completion goals

Required

Master's degree in Higher Education Administration, Educational Leadership, Educational Psychology, Counseling, and/or Social Work from an accredited college or university
Six years of relevant experience
At least five years of higher education experience working within student development and/or advisement
Knowledge of academic and support programs, including financial aid, emergency funding and community resources
Must be able to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality
Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
Adaptable and able to multitask as required

Preferred

Strong management and supervisory skills, with the ability to lead change and build high-performing, collaborative teams
Demonstrated experience in budget planning, oversight, and fiscal management
Proven success in program management, including strategic planning and implementation
Demonstrated understanding of the educational experiences of historically marginalized racial groups in the United States, particularly Black, Indigenous, and Latinx communities
Proven ability to cultivate inclusive, equitable, and effective working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and external stakeholders
Excellent organizational, project management, communication, and facilitation skills
Proficiency with computer systems and applications, including Microsoft Office, Banner, Argos, CRM Advise, and Brightspace, as well as experience with institutional purchasing guidelines and processes
