YMCA of the USA is seeking a detail oriented and organized Accounting Manager to join their Finance Team. The Accounting Manager will manage day-to-day accounting operations, ensure accurate financial reporting, and support the CFO with timely financial data and analysis for strategic decisions.

Responsibilities

Oversee all aspects of the general ledger, including journal entries and reconciliations
Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processes
Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual closes
Prepare financial statements and reports for CFO review
Maintain compliance with GAAP and non-profit accounting standards
Implement and monitor internal control procedures
Support annual audit preparation and liaise with external auditors
Assist CFO with budget development and monitoring
Provide variance analysis and recommendations
Maintain accounting systems and recommend process improvements
Collaborate with IT on financial system upgrades and integrations

Qualification

Required

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business required
Minimum of 5 years progressive accounting experience; non-profit experience preferred
Minimum of 2 years Payroll experience
Strong knowledge of GAAP and fund accounting
Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft excel
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
Must obtain BLS, First Aid and Emergency Oxygen certifications within 90 days of hire; we train and certify on-site
