Senior Director of Grant Strategy & Compliance
YMCA of the USA is seeking a Senior Director of Grant Strategy & Compliance to provide strategic leadership and oversight of their grants portfolio. Responsibilities
Provide strategic oversight of the Association’s grants portfolio, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, financial controls, and compliance standards
Establish and maintain grant compliance frameworks, policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure adherence to funder, regulatory, and audit requirements
Oversee and monitor compliance across all grant-funded programs, identifying risks, addressing gaps, and implementing corrective actions as needed
Support grants management staff, including workload planning, performance oversight, coaching, and professional development
Serve as the senior-level authority on grant compliance and governance, providing guidance to internal stakeholders and leadership on complex or high-risk awards
Partner with Finance to ensure grant budgets, reimbursements, and financial reporting align with award terms, accounting standards, and internal controls
Review and approve interim, progress, and final grant reports prior to submission to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance
Oversee grant resourcing and capacity planning, including staffing needs, systems, and tools required to support effective grant management
Provide strategic input on grant opportunities and proposal development, with a focus on feasibility, compliance readiness, and long-term sustainability
Prepare executive-level grant summaries, dashboards, and compliance reports for senior leadership and the Board, as requested
Serve as the primary escalation point for audits, monitoring visits, and funder inquiries related to grant compliance
Support association-wide fundraising initiatives, including the One Y Annual Campaign, as appropriate
Travel to YMCA branches or funder locations for oversight meetings, site visits, or audits, as required
Perform other duties as assigned in support of the YMCA’s mission, financial stewardship, and compliance objectives
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree preferred; advanced degree also preferred
Minimum 7–10 years of progressive experience in grants management, compliance, or nonprofit financial oversight
Demonstrated experience supervising staff and managing complex grants portfolios
Strong understanding of compliance, internal controls, and grant-funded financial reporting
Advanced communication, analytical, and leadership skills
Proficiency in grants management systems and Microsoft Office
Must be 21 and obtain a Valid Texas driver's license with ability to travel as required
CPR Pro and First Aid certifications required within the first 60 days of employment
