Responsibilities
Act as a Business Analyst supporting Capital Markets initiatives, working with portfolio managers, traders, operations, compliance, and risk teams
Gather, analyze, and document business requirements, functional specifications, and data requirements
Perform hands-on SQL analysis on large financial datasets to support business insights, reconciliations, reporting, and issue resolution
Analyze trade lifecycle data, positions, P&L, exposure, cash movements, and corporate actions
Support investment operations and front-office reporting by validating data accuracy and identifying data gaps or inconsistencies
Create business-level documentation including BRDs, FRDs, data mapping documents, and process flows
Participate in UAT planning and execution, working closely with business users to validate outputs
Collaborate with data, reporting, and technology teams to ensure business requirements are clearly understood and delivered
Support regulatory and compliance-driven analysis (e.g., audit, risk, performance, reporting requirements)
Work on data quality initiatives, root-cause analysis, and ongoing process improvements
Communicate findings and recommendations clearly to senior business stakeholders
Qualification
Required
10+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in Capital Markets / Asset Management / Investment Banking environments
Strong hands-on SQL expertise: Writing complex queries (joins, subqueries, CTEs), Data validation, reconciliation, and analysis
Solid understanding of Capital Markets concepts, including: Equities, Fixed Income, Derivatives, Trade lifecycle (order, execution, settlement), Positions, P&L, cash, exposure, corporate actions
Experience working closely with front office, middle office, and operations teams
Strong experience in business requirements gathering and stakeholder management
Ability to translate complex business needs into clear functional and data requirements
Experience supporting UAT and business sign-off
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Preferred
Experience in Asset Management firms or buy-side institutions
Exposure to risk, performance, or regulatory reporting
Experience working with data warehouses or financial data platforms
Familiarity with tools such as Excel (advanced), Power BI/Tableau (user-level)
Prior experience working with global stakeholders
