Responsibilities
Develop and implement janitorial strategies that ensure the cleanliness and upkeep of the distribution center
Manage daily operations of the janitorial staff, ensuring that all tasks are completed to Amazon’s standards
Oversee the scheduling and deployment of janitorial teams across various shifts to cover all necessary areas of the facility
Hire, train, and supervise janitorial staff, providing ongoing feedback and support to ensure high performance and efficiency
Conduct regular performance evaluations and organize training workshops to enhance skill levels of staff
Foster a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement among team members
Develop and manage the janitorial budget, including supplies and equipment procurement while ensuring cost-effectiveness
Maintain inventory control of cleaning supplies, tools, and equipment, placing orders and negotiating with suppliers as necessary
Implement quality control measures to ensure that cleaning standards meet or exceed regulations and company expectations
Conduct regular inspections and audits of the facility to identify areas for improvement and compliance with health and safety regulations
Respond to and resolve any issues related to cleaning or maintenance swiftly and effectively
Manage special cleaning projects, coordinating with other departments and external contractors as necessary
Ensure seamless communication and coordination among different teams within the facility
Report regularly to the Facilities Operations Manager on project statuses, challenges, and achievements
Qualification
Required
High school diploma required
Minimum of 5 years in janitorial or facilities management
At least 2 years in a supervisory or management role within a large facility or distribution center
Strong leadership and project management skills
Excellent organizational abilities
Proficient in MS Office and facility management software
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred
Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred
