Responsibilities
Monitor the facility to ensure a safe, clean, and orderly environment at all times
Conduct routine rounds, log observations, and report incidents according to agency protocols
Enforce shelter rules, expectations, and curfew policies with professionalism and respect
Respond to emergencies, de-escalate conflicts, and notify supervisory staff as needed
Greet residents, provide guidance, answer questions, and assist with basic needs
Support new resident intakes, including documentation, bed assignments, and orientations
Build positive rapport with clients, offering encouragement and connecting them to appropriate staff or services
Assist with distribution of meals, basic supplies, mail, and hygiene items
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or GED required
Ability to remain calm and professional in crisis situations
Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work with diverse populations
Basic computer skills for documentation and reporting
Must be able to stand/walk for long periods and perform light physical tasks
Preferred
Experience in shelters, social services, security, or customer-service settings preferred
