Responsibilities

Take ownership of production assets and operate them safely in line with procedures, guidelines, and industry best practices
Perform daily production activities, preventative maintenance, process data collection, and administrative tasks
Report safety, quality, or process issues to Team Leader/Shift Supervisor
Ensure production targets are achieved while maintaining quality standards
Issue Corrective Action Requests (CARs) or Hazard Reports when relevant issues are identified
Provide progress updates to supervisors and contribute to team meetings
Participate in investigations of HSE or quality issues (e.g., customer complaints, reject batches)
Support continuous improvement programs for HSE, Quality, and operational efficiency
Clean portable tanks, valves, filters, pumps, and other equipment using cleaning chemicals and tools
Operate automated tank washer machines and pressure washers
Perform housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and safe work environment
Maintain storage of raw materials, intermediates, and finished goods
Operate and inspect forklifts daily; deliver materials to batch makers and production areas
Assist fill-off operators with proper containers and manage hazardous waste disposal
Keep storage areas organized and clean; remove trash and rags at end of shift
Transfer completed products into containers of various sizes (from 1 quart cans to tankers)
Measure and verify product yields; check containers for leaks and proper sealing
Complete batch tickets, label containers, and forward approved batches to shipping
Clean equipment and properly stage cleaning materials
Add raw materials in the specified order per batch ticket
Weigh and measure materials accurately for yield and batch quality
Coordinate sample testing with QC and adjust batches as instructed
Maintain housekeeping standards and assist in other production tasks when trained
Operate machine controls to achieve specified flow and temperature limits
Demonstrate competency in Lockout/Tagout/Tryout processes
Set up and break down mills, select media/screens, and inspect for wear
Perform color development and fineness checks using grind blocks or other devices
Independently operate production equipment following established procedures
Make decisions regarding safe operation of assets, reporting of hazards, and issuing CARs
Adjust batch processes based on QC instructions
Manage daily housekeeping and organization of work areas without supervision
Escalate complex issues to supervisors when necessary

Required

High School Diploma or GED equivalent required
Prior manufacturing experience required
Ability to read, comprehend, and follow safety instructions and guidelines
Ability to pass forklift test and obtain certification
Ability to operate forklifts safely and efficiently
Ability to read and apply accurate labels
Ability to measure and weigh materials accurately
Effective interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to work independently, multi-task, and balance priorities
Strong commitment to safety leadership and compliance
Ability to climb stairs wearing steel-toed footwear
Ability to work in hot/cold environments and inclement weather
Ability to work in heavy manufacturing environments with exposure to chemical agents
Ability to stand or walk for long periods of time
Arm-hand steadiness and near vision for detailed tasks
Lift and handle containers such as 5-gallon pails up to 75 lbs, 60 lb bags of pigment, and maneuver drums up to 900 lbs
Lift metal objects up to 40 lbs to a height of 5 feet
Perform extended standing, walking, climbing, and manual handling tasks
English speaking required

Preferred

Experience in a paint manufacturing facility preferred
Basic Microsoft Office skills preferred
