Responsibilities

Perform abstract and title reviews on fee-simple property and easement acquisitions

Identify exceptions, adverse conveyances, rights of way, and restrictions to ensure no conflicts with proposed land use

Analyze property descriptions, options, and R/W requirements for accuracy and completeness

Compile information necessary for right of way purchases and easements

Develop basemaps to support transmission R/W development projects

Write legal descriptions for land and R/W purchases

Check and verify the accuracy of drawings prepared for legal files, deeds, and agreements

Assist with plotting survey information and preparing R/W and property plans

Interpret aerial photographs, contour maps, survey notes, and related materials

Develop scopes of work and Requests for Proposals (RFPs) for survey vendors performing transmission basemap or R/W projects

Required

Proficiency in AutoCAD and Carlson (required)

Practical knowledge of surveying duties and principles

Experience reviewing title abstracts and writing legal deed descriptions and related drawings

Strong mathematical background (algebra, trigonometry) related to survey calculations

Proficiency using desktop computers, calculators, and performing survey-related calculations

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Demonstrated sound judgment and ability to maintain confidentiality

Knowledge of GIS applications, LiDAR data usage, and PASDA information
