Responsibilities
Set and Lead R&D Strategy & Technology Direction: Define and execute the Division’s R&D strategy, technology roadmap, innovation pipeline, and KPIs while ensuring alignment with broader business goals
Drive Project Excellence & Operational Execution: Oversee delivery of R&D and engineering projects on time and on budget, ensuring adherence to processes, standards, governance, and IP/risk management requirements
Strengthen Cross‑Functional & External Collaboration: Align R&D with Product Management, support knowledge transfer, and represent the technology function with customers, partners, universities, and industry bodies
Develop People & Manage Resources: Lead organizational capability, talent development, and team performance while managing R&D budgets, resources, and overall operational effectiveness
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering with minimum 15 years experience working in a manufacturing environment with recent engineering leadership responsibilities
Global leadership and financial acumen, with experience managing multi-country teams and navigating complex custom-order product environments
Strategic, analytical, and results-driven, demonstrating strong problem-solving, organizational skills, and a proven ability to execute key strategic initiatives
Exceptional communicator and relationship-builder, with the ability to lead and influence senior-level teams and effectively understand markets, customers, and competitive dynamics
Willingness to travel: up to 35%
Candidates must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
