Fire Equipment Technician I
San Bernardino County Fire Protection District is recruiting for Fire Equipment Technician I positions to perform entry-level warehouse, delivery, and logistical support duties. The role involves maintaining accurate inventory records, assisting Firefighters, performing minor equipment repairs, and delivering supplies and equipment throughout the county.

Responsibilities
Maintaining accurate inventory records
Accounting for supplies
Requisitioning, issuing, and delivering equipment and materials
Assisting Firefighters with PPE and uniform selection
Performing minor equipment repairs
Station order fulfillment
Supporting general Service Center operations
Picking up, transporting, and delivering supplies, equipment, and mail
Operating computers, phones, and office equipment to determine supply needs
Processing requisitions
Collecting requested items from the warehouse
Ensuring accurate delivery and documentation
Working on-call to provide logistical support to fire incidents as needed
Qualification
Required
Three (3) months of full-time equivalent experience in a warehouse environment, including receiving, storing, issuing, stocking, and inventorying supplies and materials in a computerized supply system (such as a large warehouse or large retail warehouse)
Experience must include order processing using computer programs and performing courier duties involving delivery and/or pickup services for multiple daily route locations, including determining delivery schedules and efficient route sequences
Current possession of a CA Class C driver license
Must successfully complete a background check prior to appointment
Travel throughout the County is required
A valid California Class C Driver License is required to carry out the essential job-related functions of this position
May be required to obtain a CA Class B driver license, depending on assignment
Proof of automobile liability insurance must be maintained
Must obtain a valid California Incident Command Certification System Qualification Card (CICCS Red Card) verifying completion of S-130, S-190, and I-200 training courses (provided by the department) within 12 months of hire and maintain throughout employment
Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.; frequent sitting, walking, standing, and bending
Will be required to work on-call as needed in order to provide assistance to incidents and other events after hours and weekends
Preferred
Prior experience with inventory or procurement/purchasing systems
SAP experience is also desirable
