Accountant/Auditor Trainee

San Bernardino County is recruiting for Accountant/Auditor Trainees who work under the supervision of higher-level accountants or auditors while developing the required knowledge and skills to independently perform journey-level accounting or auditing duties. Essential duties include preparing and analyzing accounting and financial statements, making adjusting entries in several subsystems of a departmental accounting system, and performing specialized accounting functions such as tax or cost accounting.

Required

Must possess a completed/awarded bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, economics OR a bachelor's degree in another field which must include 30 semester (45 quarter) units of completed college coursework in accounting. (Transcripts with qualifying coursework is required if degree is in another field.)
Qualifying degrees or coursework must be completed at a college or university accredited by any accrediting association recognized by the United States Department of Education
At time of hire, a valid California Class C driver license and proof of automobile liability insurance must be produced for the individual providing the transportation
Candidates who meet the minimum qualifications will be invited to take the online assessment

Benefits

Auditing Pay Differential - 2.0% above base rate of pay. (ATC/HS only)
Certified Public Accountant Stipend - $750 annual CPA stipend for employees who attain and maintain a valid CPA License.
