Director/ExecutiveStudent Action with Farmworkers is seeking a Director to lead the North Carolina Local News Lab Fund. This role involves setting a vision for local news sustainability, managing partnerships and fundraising, and overseeing operations to ensure equitable access to trusted local news across North Carolina.

Responsibilities
Lead the North Carolina Local News Lab Fund, setting and advancing a statewide vision to strengthen and sustain local news and information ecosystems across North Carolina
Responsible for strategy, partnerships, fundraising, and overall operations
Work closely with funders, community organizations, and an advisory board to expand equitable access to trusted local news
Combine external leadership—building relationships, galvanizing philanthropic support, and representing the Fund publicly—with internal management, including guiding staff, overseeing grantmaking, and ensuring the organization’s long-term impact and sustainability
Qualification
Required
Experience in leading and managing teams
Strong strategic thinking and planning skills
Proven ability to build and maintain partnerships
Experience in fundraising and securing financial support
Knowledge of local news and information ecosystems
Ability to represent the organization publicly
Experience in grantmaking and overseeing operations
Commitment to equity and access in local news
