Responsibilities
Lead the architecture, development, and delivery of iOS applications for kiosk and mobile platforms
Partner with Design to create seamless, accessible user experiences for diverse rider populations
Implement secure payment flows and NFC-based interactions for fare collection and rider authentication
Define technical direction and best practices for the iOS codebase
Mentor and grow team members as the mobile engineering function scales
Collaborate cross-functionally with backend, operations, and hardware teams to integrate with vehicle systems and backend services
Drive decisions on frameworks, tooling, and development workflows
Ensure reliability, performance, and quality through testing strategies and code review practices
Qualification
Required
7+ years of iOS development experience, with at least 2 years in a technical lead or senior role
Deep expertise in Swift and modern iOS frameworks (SwiftUI, Combine, UIKit)
Hands-on experience with NFC integration using Core NFC for contactless interactions
Proven experience implementing payment solutions (Apple Pay, payment SDKs, PCI compliance considerations)
Experience shipping consumer-facing applications to the App Store
Strong architectural sensibilities—you've designed systems that scale and remain maintainable
Track record of close collaboration with Design and Product teams
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and release management
Excellent communication skills and comfort leading technical discussions
Preferred
Experience with stored value card systems (transit cards, closed-loop payment cards, or prepaid fare media)
Experience with kiosk or embedded iOS applications
Exposure to real-time systems, IoT, or hardware integrations
Background in transit, mobility, or automotive technology
Experience with accessibility standards and inclusive design
Familiarity with EMV standards or contactless payment protocols
