Conferring with department heads and City staff regarding legal issues and making appropriate recommendations
Researching legal issues and preparing opinions, ordinances, resolutions, contracts, leases, permits, and other legal documents, depending on assignment
Monitoring proposed legislation and court decisions affecting municipal operations
Qualification
Required
Experience in providing legal counsel in a municipal environment
Ability to address complex legal issues and support City initiatives
Experience with labor and employment law (preferred but not required)
Ability to research legal issues and prepare legal documents
Strong communication skills to confer with department heads and City staff
Ability to monitor proposed legislation and court decisions affecting municipal operations
