Responsibilities
Manage planning, installation, commissioning, and turnover of life safety systems (fire alarm, gas detection, smoke control, emergency communications, egress controls)
Coordinate integration of life safety systems with BMS, fire control panels, and related PLC/SCADA platforms
Serve as primary interface between EPC, life safety vendors, BMS integrator, AHJs, and commissioning agents
Ensure systems comply with applicable codes and standards (NFPA, IBC, IFC, FM Global, UL, local AHJ requirements)
Oversee factory and site acceptance testing (FAT/SAT), integrated systems testing (IST), and emergency response scenarios
Track schedule, budget, risks, and change management related to life safety scope
Review and approve submittals, control narratives, cause-and-effect matrices, and as-built documentation
Support permitting, inspections, and final occupancy approvals related to life safety systems
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent experience)
7+ years of project management experience in industrial or high-hazard facilities (battery, semiconductor, chemical, or similar)
Demonstrated experience with life safety systems integration into BMS platforms (e.g., Siemens, Honeywell, Johnson Controls, Schneider)
Strong working knowledge of fire alarm systems, gas detection, emergency power, and code-driven interlocks
Proven experience coordinating multi-discipline contractors and vendors in an EPC environment
Excellent documentation, communication, and stakeholder management skills
Preferred
Familiarity with lithium-ion battery hazards, thermal runaway mitigation, and related safety strategies
PMP or equivalent certification
