Responsibilities
Operate production assets safely in accordance with established procedures, guidelines, and industry best practices
Perform daily production operations, preventive maintenance activities, and process data collection per control systems and procedures
Report safety, quality, or process issues to the Team Leader or Shift Supervisor
Ensure shift production targets are met while maintaining required quality standards
Issue Corrective Action Reports (CAR) and Hazard Reports when issues are identified
Provide regular progress updates to the Team Leader or Shift Supervisor
Participate in team meetings and contribute to operational discussions
Support investigations related to HSE incidents, customer complaints, reject batches, and quality issues
Participate in Continuous Improvement programs related to HSE, Quality, and operational efficiency
Comply with all corporate, site, and laboratory policies related to conduct, HSE, and Product Safety & Regulatory Affairs (PSRA)
Clean portable tanks, valves, filters, pumps, and equipment using approved cleaning tools and chemicals
Operate automated tank washer equipment and pressure washers
Perform area housekeeping duties and support production needs as required
Maintain storage of raw materials, intermediates, and finished goods
Retrieve and stage materials for batch makers, adjusters, tinters, and fill-off operations
Operate forklifts safely and complete daily forklift inspections
Return unused materials and dispose of empty containers per procedures
Transport hazardous waste containers to accumulation areas when full and properly labeled
Maintain clean and organized yards, storage areas, and workspaces
Coordinate material delivery to batch makers
Support fill-off operators with container preparation
Ensure proper storage and movement of finished goods, intermediates, and overages
Maintain cleanliness and compliance across material storage areas
Transfer finished products into containers ranging from small packages to bulk tankers
Measure and verify product quantities for accuracy and yield
Label, stencil, and document all containers per customer and shipping requirements
Inspect filled containers for leaks and defects
Complete batch tickets and coordinate transfer to shipping
Clean pumps, tanks, hoses, and dispose of used filters properly
Add raw materials in the specified order per batch tickets
Accurately weigh and measure materials
Coordinate with Quality Control for sampling and adjustments
Maintain housekeeping standards and assist in other production tasks when trained
Operate milling and grinding equipment within specified flow and temperature limits
Set up and break down milling equipment, including media and screen selection
Inspect equipment for wear and perform cleaning
Perform color development checks and fineness testing
Demonstrate Lockout/Tagout/Tryout (LOTO) compliance
Set up pump trains for material transfers
Qualification
Required
Ability to read, understand, and follow safety instructions and procedures
Ability to measure and weigh materials accurately
Ability to read and apply accurate labels
Ability to operate forklifts and obtain forklift certification
Strong attention to detail and safety awareness
Effective interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to multitask and work independently
Commitment to safety leadership and compliance
High School Diploma or GED required
Preferred
Prior experience in paint or chemical manufacturing
Prior general manufacturing experience
Basic Microsoft Office skills
