Full Stack Developer

South College is one of the nation’s fastest growing institutions of higher learning, and they are seeking a Full Stack Developer to enhance the experience of students, faculty, and staff through custom web portals. The role includes building and maintaining integrated systems, collaborating with various teams, and ensuring secure and user-friendly applications.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain custom web portals for students, faculty, and staff
Ensure responsive, accessible, and user-friendly interfaces across devices
Implement secure authentication and role-based access controls
Develop and maintain integrations between the college’s SIS, LMS, CRM, and other enterprise systems
Build and consume RESTful APIs to facilitate data exchange across platforms
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to application performance and data flow
Participate in requirements gathering, system design, testing, and deployment
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure applications meet institutional needs
Document system architecture, workflows, and codebase for maintainability
Implement secure coding practices and ensure applications comply with FERPA and other relevant regulations
Monitor and address vulnerabilities and performance issues
Stay current with emerging technologies and recommend enhancements
Assist in automating routine processes and improving operational efficiency

Required

Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field
3+ years of experience in full stack development
Proficiency in front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React or Angular)
Strong back-end development skills (C#, .NET, Node.js, or similar)
Experience with relational databases (SQL Server, MySQL, or PostgreSQL)
Familiarity with RESTful APIs and system integration techniques
Understanding of secure coding practices and data privacy standards

Preferred

Experience in higher education or similar institutional environments
Knowledge of ERP, SIS, or LMS platforms
Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS) and DevOps practices
Effective communication and collaboration skills
