AV Field Engineer
Avology Inc. is seeking a hands-on AV Field Engineer to support the testing, commissioning, and delivery of high-quality audio-visual systems. The role involves troubleshooting, configuring, and validating AV systems in a field environment, primarily within corporate and commercial settings.
Responsibilities
Test and commission AV systems (audio, video, control, and networking)
Perform point-to-point testing and system validation
Troubleshoot integrated AV systems in real-world environments
Support Crestron / QSYS control systems (uploading, testing, minor edits)
Configure DSPs and fine-tune audio and video performance
Set up and verify IP-based AV devices
Support user acceptance testing and client walkthroughs
Create and close punch lists
Work closely with Project Managers, Engineers, and Clients
Provide client support on-site when needed
Travel to job sites as required (mostly local)
Qualification
Required
Strong understanding of AV signal flow and system integration
Experience commissioning and troubleshooting AV systems
Comfortable working with control systems and DSPs
Solid understanding of basic networking
Professional communication and documentation skills
Ability to work independently and manage priorities in the field
Valid driver's license and ability to work on ladders/lifts
5+ years of AV installation or field engineering experience
Experience with Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Webex, or similar platforms
AVIXA CTS certification
Electronics or technical education background
