The IFA Brownfields Summer Intern will assist in the Brownfields Program by supporting the evaluation of the program's return on investment and helping communities with environmental barriers to economic growth.

Responsibilities
Research and collect data through one or more of the following: Distributing surveys to stakeholders receiving Brownfield Program support
Phone calls and written correspondence to property owners, environmental consultants, and local government representatives
Media coverage
Internet research for updates on site redevelopment, property valuation, and tax information
Travel (as needed) to various brownfield sites to assess current site conditions and take photographs
Record ROI data into an Excel spreadsheet
Perform data analysis and assist with preparation of ROI Project summary
Create fact sheets for Brownfields Success Stories/GIS StoryMaps
Environmental Restrictive Covenant compliance support
Compilation/reconciliation of brownfield inventories
Assist in compilation of state parcel data for updating the BF GIS site layer
Assist in research regarding brownfield sites in wellhead protection areas
Qualification
Required
Obtaining or have earned a Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college, with a concentration in one of the following areas: Environmental Science or related environmental/science field; public and/or environmental affairs; business; data management
Valid driver's license and proof of current automobile insurance
Familiarity with terminology related to environmental assessment, remediation, and redevelopment of contaminated property
Strong oral and written communication/interpersonal skills
Ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, and databases (knowledge of GIS and creating fillable forms with Adobe a plus)
Well-organized and detail oriented
Team-oriented mentality
Able to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation
