Responsibilities
Lead advanced 3D CAD modeling, design reviews, and simulation/analysis for complex mechanical systems
Serve as a subject matter expert on core programs, guiding material selection, DFM/DFA, and test strategy
Oversee prototype builds, root cause analysis, and validation testing to ensure design robustness
Define, review, and execute test plans aligned with performance and regulatory requirements
Manage complex CAD assemblies and establish best practices for configuration control and system integration
Mentor and technically guide junior engineers
Collaborate cross-functionally to transition designs into scalable, repeatable production
Contribute to long-term technology roadmaps and continuous improvement initiatives
Qualification
Required
7+ years of experience designing and developing electromechanical components, assemblies, and systems
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related technical field
Strong proficiency in 3D CAD (SolidWorks preferred) and DFM for injection molding, machining, and additive manufacturing
Experience with complex mechanical design, surface modeling, and industrial design considerations
Proven experience conducting design reviews and performing root cause analysis
Ability to produce high-quality engineering drawings with correct GD&T application
Hands-on fabrication and prototyping experience
Experience with FMECA and reliability-focused design
Background in electronic product development and/or unmanned systems
Track record of taking products through the full product lifecycle
Strong ability to interpret and execute design direction from creative and interdisciplinary partners
Comfortable working across mechanical, electrical, manufacturing, and systems engineering teams
