Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services on AWS‑hosted architectures
Develop high‑quality RESTful APIs and microservices using Core Java and Spring Boot
Ensure backend systems support high availability, security, performance, and cloud‑native patterns
Debug, optimize, and maintain backend code for enterprise‑scale applications
Apply Java design patterns to build resilient, maintainable enterprise services
Integrate backend components with external systems and platforms as required
Implement observability across backend services including logging, KPIs, dashboards, and alerts
Collaborate with globally distributed teams across multiple time zones
Participate in code reviews and mentor junior engineers as needed
Contribute to cloud integration patterns and secure microservices architecture

Required

Strong proficiency in Core Java, Spring Boot, and RESTful API development
Design and development experience in scalable cloud‑hosted backend architectures on AWS
10+ years of applied experience developing, debugging, and maintaining backend code in large enterprise environments
Solid understanding of Java design patterns and their application in enterprise systems
Ability to communicate openly, proactively, and effectively in a collaborative environment
Experience working in globally distributed teams across different time zones
Competency Level: Close to Advanced — one level below architect

Preferred

Payments or banking experience, especially in disputes or chargebacks
Understanding of dispute lifecycle processes
Experience with cloud‑native integration patterns across microservices
Experience with observability tools such as Splunk or Dynatrace and operational dashboarding
