Responsibilities
Accurately input patient demographic and insurance details into the electronic medical records system
Confirm insurance coverage and secure necessary authorizations prior to scheduled appointments
Respond to patient inquiries regarding appointments, forms, or billing, and escalate complex issues to appropriate team members
Facilitate patient check-in and check-out processes, including collecting copayments and completing required documentation
Schedule, confirm, and manage patient appointments while ensuring timely updates to the calendar
Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to healthcare regulations and organizational policies
Support administrative operations, including back-office duties, in a small practice environment
Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and provide assistance where needed
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or equivalent
Previous experience in a medical office or healthcare environment is strongly desired
Excellent communication and customer service skills to interact professionally with patients and staff
Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities to manage multiple tasks effectively
Proficiency in data entry, including alphanumeric input, and experience with Word processing software
Ability to work collaboratively within a small team and adapt to a dynamic work environment
Preferred
Additional education or coursework in medical office administration
Familiarity with medical terminology and electronic health record systems is advantageous
