Senior Risk Analyst
The City of Moreno Valley is looking for a proactive and analytical professional to join their team as the next Senior Risk Analyst. This role serves as the City’s technical expert on all matters related to risk management, overseeing comprehensive risk management programs and collaborating with various departments to reduce financial exposure and enhance organizational safety.

Responsibilities
Plans, organizes, and directs the City’s comprehensive risk management programs, including general liability, workers’ compensation, employee safety, property damage, insurance administration, and loss control
Evaluates risk exposure, develops mitigation strategies, manages insurance portfolios, and ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
Collaborates closely with City departments, external partners, and the City Attorney’s Office to investigate claims, analyze loss trends, and implement programs that reduce financial exposure and enhance organizational safety
Oversees risk financing techniques, maintains risk management information systems, prepares annual reports, and provides expert guidance on indemnification, insurance requirements, and contract language
Qualification
Required
A bachelor's degree in finance, public or business administration, or a closely related field; OR equivalent related work experience
A minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible professional experience performing administrative, operations, budgetary, and similar analyses
Preferred
Experience in a Governmental Agency is preferred
Possession of, or the ability to obtain, certifications such as the Associate in Risk Management (ARM) or Certified Safety Professional (CSP) is desirable
