Responsibilities
Administer patient care to designated patients under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse
Follows the plan of care set by the registered nurse and/or physician
Managing the individual needs of the patient with regards to their age and clinical diagnosis
Performs a variety of direct and indirect patient care duties in the Emergency Department in order to ensure and maintaining smooth patient flow
The Sr. E.R. Technician has specialized skills and knowledge in Emergency Care for all patients from infancy through geriatric
Qualification
Required
High School graduate or equivalent required
Current CA Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) or LVN Blood withdrawal certification required
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by American Heart Association
CPI is required within 30 days of hire
EMT, CNA or Medical Assistant required –OR- Currently enrolled in RN program with successful completion of 2 semesters of clinical coursework
Basic dysrhythmia certification or obtained within 6 months of hire
Preferred
One year experience in an acute care setting preferred
