Responsibilities
Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and staff by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and responding appropriately to emergencies at the location
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, maintaining professionalism at all times
Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the campus buildings and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and observe for any unusual conditions
Monitor entrances, exits, and common areas to help to deter unauthorized access and/or suspicious behavior
Document and report security-related incidents and/or concerns according to established protocols
Assist with access control procedures, verifying identification and/or credentials as required by site-specific guidelines
Support emergency response activities as directed, working in coordination with campus personnel and first responders when necessary
Provide information and assistance to students, faculty, staff, and visitors as needed, maintaining a visible and approachable presence
Qualification
Required
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment
A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only
Preferred
Access control or badge experience
Ability to lift more than 20 pounds
Ability to ride a bike for long periods of time
