Director/ExecutiveThe Adoptee Space, Inc. is a community-driven organization dedicated to supporting and celebrating adult adoptees. The Board Member will provide leadership, guidance, and strategic direction to help achieve organizational goals, including attending meetings, contributing to strategic planning, and promoting community engagement.

Responsibilities
Attending three regular meetings throughout the year (in-person or remote)
Contributing to long-term strategic planning
Ensuring financial sustainability
Supporting program initiatives
Promoting community engagement
Advocating on behalf of adoptee voices
Working collaboratively with other board members to advance the organization’s mission
Qualification
Required
Leadership and strategic planning skills, including the ability to assess and guide organizational priorities
Experience with nonprofit or community-focused organizations, including board governance and fundraising expertise
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate with diverse teams and communities
Commitment to the mission of supporting and empowering adoptees, with sensitivity to cultural and diverse perspectives
Experience building partnerships, driving organizational growth, and amplifying community impact
Strong decision-making, problem-solving, and organizational skills
Preferred
Experience with event planning, program development, or advocacy efforts is a plus
Experience in the adoption community, including adoptee, adoptive parent, birth parent, or adoptee-competent therapist is also a plus
