Responsibilities

Defend client companies in workers compensation cases
Provide legal counsel and representation throughout all stages of litigation
Conduct legal research, draft pleadings, motions, and other legal documents
Collaborate with support staff, medical professionals, and experts to build strong cases
Attend hearings, depositions, and mediations as needed
Negotiate settlements and represent clients in court when necessary
Stay up-to-date with legal trends, regulations, and case law related to workers' compensation

Required

Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
Active membership in good standing with the State Bar
2-5 years of experience specifically focused on defending companies in workers' compensation cases, general liability a plus
Strong understanding of workers compensation laws and regulations
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage a high-volume caseload with attention to detail
Effective negotiation, advocacy, and courtroom presentation skills
