Responsibilities
Define and initially own the overall system architecture across web, mobile, backend, and AI components
Product Development: Build and ship core features including:
Manga reader and content delivery systems
Creator dashboards and publishing tools
Community features (forums, comments, profiles)
AI chat and recommendation features
Centralized hub experience tying everything together
Startup Background/Ownership: Make pragmatic technology decisions balancing speed, scalability, and maintainability
Team Building: Assist in the hire, mentor, and lead future engineers as the team grows
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with product, design, and business to translate vision into reality
Infrastructure & DevOps: Assist in overseeing cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, security, and performance
AI Integration: Integrate and optimize AI models for chat, discovery, moderation, and creator assistance
Qualification
Required
15+ years of professional software development experience
5+ years in a senior or lead engineering role
Strong experience with full-stack development
Frontend: React, Vue, or similar
Backend: Node.js, Python, Go, or similar
Databases: PostgreSQL, NoSQL, or hybrid systems
Experience building content platforms, marketplaces, or community-driven products
Familiarity with AI/ML integrations (LLMs, recommendation systems, moderation tools)
Solid understanding of system design, scalability, and APIs
Startup mindset: adaptable, decisive, and comfortable with ambiguity
Preferred
Passion/working understanding for manga, anime, or creator ecosystems is a big plus
